While many U.S. resort communities lanquish in the real estate excesses of 2002 through 2006 the authentic Victorian-era community of Red Lodge development is experiencing a renaisaance unseen since the early 1900's.
A new ski resort owner, JMA Ventures of San Francisco, is making significant improvements to the ski area, a new $25 million hospital has broken ground, a new $9 million high school is nearing completion, a new $3 million Red Lodge Ales is under construction, new banks, many new subdivisions, and all of this is occurring in 2008-09 while the rest of the U.S. economy is languishing in recession. Why? Quite simply Red Lodge did not participate in the excesses of the real estate boom and there are many new catalysts for growth.
For starters the median price of a home here was $279,000 in 2007. Compare that to $1.3 million for Jackson Hole and nearly $800,000 for Big Sky - Colorado and Utah resorts have left out all but the elite. Red Lodge is one of the few remaining places in the Rockies where you can still "live the dream" on a budget.
The town borders a 1 million acre wilderness and Yellowstone National Park, yet it is under one hour to Billings, Montana's largest city, where a great airport, regional shopping center, and the best medical care statewide exists.
We researched every Rcoky Mountain resort town from northern Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana and here is what we found...... you can't find a better value than Red Lodge.
The Spires at Red Lodge is a fabulous new resort community combining sustainable practices with loads of parks, trails, and views of 12,000 foot peaks. You can visit us at http://www.spiresatredlodge.com.
